Dash-Board Gen 2: A Journey of Passion and Progress

"In late 2012, frustration with my Festool MFT3 sparked an idea that would change the course of my career. After two years of struggling with its limitations, I leaned that workbench in a corner and embarked, if unwittingly at first, on a journey to create something revolutionary - a portable workbench that would perform flawlessly both on-site and in the shop.
Little did I know that this personal project would evolve into a thriving American tool company.
Dash-Board’s Evolution: From Personal Project to American Tool Brand
Fast forward to 2024, and Dash-Board has endured and evolved beyond all expectations. Through countless iterations, rigorous evaluation, and relentless innovation, we've refined our portable workshop concept to its purest form.
Today, I'm excited to unveil Gen 2 - the culmination of over a decade of blood, sweat, and sawdust.
Gen 2: A Portable Workbench Designed for Superior Performance
Gen 2 isn't just an upgrade; we've distilled every hard-earned lesson into a unified system that boasts:
- Streamlined design with fewer, more intuitive components
- Uncompromising structural integrity
- Expanded capacity for tackling bigger projects
- A continued, unwavering commitment to premium materials and craftsmanship
Putting the User First: An Intuitive Experience
But that only tells part of the story. The heart of the Gen 2 lineup lies in the user experience.
For 11 months, we obsessively reconsidered every detail, asking ourselves:
- How can we make this more intuitive?
- What's simpler?
- What minimizes frustration?
- What features will truly empower craftspeople in their work?
The result is a portable workshop system for cabinetmaking, woodworking, and carpentry that doesn't just meet expectations - it redefines what a workbench is and what you can do with it.
Gen 2: Realizing a Dream and Redefining the Future of Workbenches
Gen 2 is the realization of that vague dream I had 12 years ago, a dream I never imagined would lead me to found a tool company. While Gen 2 represents the pinnacle of our current designs, it's also a launchpad for the future. We've laid a solid foundation, and now the possibilities are truly endless.
So strap in, fellow makers - with Gen 2, we're just getting started on an exciting new chapter in portable workbench innovation."

Track saw crosscuts go out of square for three predictable reasons — and none of them are the saw. This post covers exactly why crosscuts miss the mark and how a mechanically fixed rail bracket system on an MFT table solves all three at the source.

Small angular errors don't cancel out — they stack. On a cabinet with dozens of joints, crosscuts that are off by even a fraction of a degree show up at assembly when fixing them means going back to the saw. This post covers how mechanical squaring with a track saw workbench eliminates the variable that causes the problem.

Many track saw crosscut errors are caused by guide rail movement, inconsistent references, or repeated manual squaring rather than the saw itself. This article explains how guide rail brackets create a fixed mechanical reference that keeps the rail perfectly square, enabling faster setup, repeatable dimensions, and consistently accurate cuts across every project.

Breaking down plywood with a track saw and a dedicated workbench is often safer, easier, and more accurate than using a table saw, especially in smaller shops or on job sites. This article explains how a track saw system paired with guide rails, fences, and workbench accessories simplifies sheet goods processing, improves cut quality, and enables fast, repeatable results without the space and handling challenges of a traditional table saw setup.

Rip cuts that are off by 1/32" don't just ruin one piece — they compound across an entire batch. This post covers how small-shop woodworkers can replace table saw ripping with a track saw workbench system that delivers the same fixed reference, without the 20-foot footprint.

Sloped floors, uneven subfloor, tight bays every location throws something different at your setup. This post walks through how to deploy a complete portable woodworking bench cutting station anywhere, with realistic setup times and a task-by-task configuration guide.
